Southern, Old Time fiddle, banjo and guitar player.  Began playing Southern Appalachian music in the early 1970's with James Leva.  Formed a band with Leva, Bruce Molsky and Al Firth in 1976 and performed for The Greengrass Cloggers at Fiddler's Grove, NC.  Visited Tommy Jarrell at that time.  Performed in the banjo workshop with Pete Seeger at the 1979 Blueberry Festival, Perth Amboy, NJ.  Toured England in 1981, performing with the Cobblestone Cloggers.  Represented the USA at the Llangollen International Eisteddfod, Wales.   The summer/fall of 1991 he played the part of a fiddler in The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey's production of "Dark of the Moon."  Won several fiddle competitions and taught banjo and fiddle workshops at festivals.  Performed in NYC with the Mud Brothers, 2000-2004.  Presently performs at venues and dances in the state of Maine and teaches fiddle & banjo privately.
